What would you do

In chapter 13 page 185/186 would you have gone down with Taske, Hutchison, Kasischke, and Fischbeck. Would you have said "I can't do this anymore I am not going to finsih the climb to the summit, i am going home". What would you do. Go down with those four climbers or would you stay and finish what you came here for and climb the rest of the mountain? Why would you stay and why would you go?
